perfect RPM to shift from 1st to 2nd?

hi guys, i'm having problems with shifting from 1st to 2nd gear , it seem that i always get the car to stall for 1 sec before going to 2nd gear.
i usually shift when the RPM is on 7000.

btw , its 08 5AT S version.

thanks,

are you using the paddle shifters?

are you constantly revving to 7k to shift? that can't be good

lmao Listen its not a mt there is no perf every car has a delay on the shifting with the paddle shifters and yes grounding kit should help you in some what but it doesnt mean you will get perf shifts from 1st to 2nd if u really wonna see how your car takes OF then kick it to 4k rpms and floor it 1s its at about 7.1 kick it into 2nd it will switch at 7.5 or 7.6 cuz of the delay but then you will not lag or stall you'll fly Lol if you try it out send me a pm =] let me know

It does it on the 5AT. That's just a typical lag with paddles. It's better, granted not by much, with the stick. It isn't as direct to the gearbox as a manual is. As far as shifting...in first on my 5AT, just average driving, i shift between 2-5 depending on traffic, conditions, road etc. Honestly, just listen to your engine. You KNOW how it is supposed to sound right before the shift. Just listen and feel, you'll figure out what's best. For spirited driving/racing at the track...between 5-7 is probably good. No need to redline just cruising around the city.

My solution is to just drive in DS mode

put that **** in ds and let it ride.... it knows when to shift. and if ur racing from a roll do this : for example 20 roll, put it n first and when usmash the gas take it out shifting moe then put it back into ds.

I wish there was a way to get the shift immediately after the paddle is hit.
