GTSPEC Lightweight Aluminum Front Under Panel ** Possible Project **

Hi All:

We just finished R&D on a lightweight aluminum front panel for the 08+ STI. We want to see how much interest are this product in the G37 community ?

Some of the benefits included protection against rocks, increase downforce and also provide better engine cooling.

Total weight should be around 12 lbs. Let me know what you guys think !

We already finished the 350Z version , will post of that version shortly. Here are the install pics on 08 STI.

Interesting. But is it lighter that the plastic one or this is just for looks and to facilitate the oil drained?

There's already a factory one that covers a lot of the underside of the front. I know an aluminum one would be stiffer but it's not going to be of any benefit. How about something for the rear?

it's not for look at all. The added vents help air escape from the engine bay thus provide better cooling.

Also protect against rock which the OEM plastic cover won't.

Other benefits including increase downforce, provide better air flow underneath the car.

Like the idea, but only if you offer in black powdercoat. I just don't want a big piece of blue painted sheet metal under the front of the car taking abuse. I have black powdercoated all your braces so far, but don't want to redo something so large.

It's not blue, it's polish aluminum. We won't be powder coating these.

will this be giving a little more ground/chassis clearance? because i am destroying the plastic undertray now due to the extra thickness and crease put in the tray so you can fold it over for oil changes.
