BTW - my apologies to the guys at Amplified. I wasn't familiar with the shop and meant no disrespect. Being stuck in the banana republic that is South Louisiana, I'm not as familiar with the SoCal scene.

They're the premier G37 shop in the area.

Ooops! Sorry, never heard of them. I guess they don't advertise in New Orleans.

You guys in SoCal don't realize how good you have it car-wise.

Oil cap blowing off

I've had this same problem now 4 times. I drive an FX35, same engine.
After having this happen 4 times now my research has got me to this point. The engine is building up pressure enough to blow the oil cap off. The oil cap has always been hard to remove when the engine is hot, it has pressure on it. I can remove it with channel-locks but not by hand. 4 times now I have found the oil cap laying in the bottom of the engine compartment.
Ive changed my PCV and hose and this did nothing to fix or reduce the problem. It's got 162k on it now and has been burning oil for the past 50K.
Ive found other people having the same issue with this same engine, 350Z, G35, FX35, etc but have not found the fix.

I know for the longest time some of the auto parts store bought PCV's were built backwards for certain platforms. If you keep replacing it with the auto store ones maybe try to get an OEM Infiniti one.
