well its officially 105 here so far; and its still not 125, but im not willing to risk it.
high ambient heat causes not only faster oil degradation, but puts stress on the radiator(tanks), but most importantly the crankshaft, bearings, camshaft, lifters, connecting rods and pistons and other area's that are not getting the cooling they need, since they are only cooled by engine oil.
Oil Coolers can reduce the oil temperature to between 180°F to 200°F and hold it steadily. on many conditions oil coolers can drop temps by 20-40 degrees.

Crankshaft/bearings/connecting rods/pistons are not going to overheat at low RPM low load low speed conditions, period. They simply don't put out enough heat.
Likewise, camshaft, VVEL components, and anything else in the head is not going to overheat because you're not spinning them up to high RPM.
RPM is the major source of heat in the engine.

Performance Motorsports of Smithtown, NY actually has a kit for the Z which may be adaptable for the G, since its pretty much all they work on. You could try giving them a call and seeing what they have/recommend. I plan on getting the oil cooler put into my Z eventually especially with this crazy heat, any little bit helps

Just wanted to chime in here and say that I have most definitely hit limp mode. It was a track day, but it wasn't exceptionally hot, maybe 80-85 degrees. And limp mode would kick in after maybe 10 minutes. I will get a cooler eventually, i do want to hit the track again. I am planning on piecing together my own kit like this guy did:

it is a must, he told me once the intake temps hit 95, the factory ecu pulls 5th degrees of timing.
major flaw in z/g , instead of having the ecu pull timing, an oil cooler would avoid the entire problem.
