How often do you use ds-sport mode?

Just to point out really quickly here that driving your car in (DS) mumatic mode for extended periods is really not a good idea if you're consistently bouncing off the rev limiter. Short term it is ok but longterm its really bad it WILL increase the engine temp which WILL cause engine components to have a shorter life span.
The tranny also has to run in a lower gear which will add additional wear which will at some point in the future increase the risk of failure.
My advice is simply this, don't forget to shift. ie leaving the engine to rev its life away is a very bad idea

actually the point of DS is to have the computer shift BEFORE you hit the rev limiter so you dont really have an argument. and sure driving hard will lessen the life of your car but then whats the point of buying a sports car? after break-in i drove my 35 hard til the end.

Are we gettin WAY off topic?
1. (This is said with love) Grannypants who doesnt get DS - enough - read the manual and try it.
2. This thread is way too long - I think we all agree that DS roicks when you want to get an extra 1,000 rpm on changes (yep - 1,000 - measured it today)
3. USed DS today in most situations, including a 4 lane lane cross to beat traffic - it hits exactly on redlineon the first change and 500'ish less for each gear change. Pedal to the metal you will get redline every gear. But not OVER redline - smart car huh?
4. I hadn't even tried it till a week ago - show thow exotics what you can do.
Peace out

DS - Reasons not use it

Hmmm - must be SOME....
.... - uhhhh - well there IS the hmmm - nope... but you should consider the... uhhh yeah nuh
Nope - just use it. Whipped in front of a Porsche Boxster tonight on DS - not sure who was more surpirsed - him or me - hit DS when I need to manouver in tight spots - sometimes it actually surprises me on the uptake.
Whooh - lovin it!

Correct me if I am wrong.
D=Automatic Driving
DS=Automatic Driving, but allows the driver to shift +/–.
Just shifting over Left side in DS mode doesn't change the way engine acts, unless you use the sports shift.
Correct?

DS mode is activated by shifting to the left and the computer timing is much different. It has a much quicker response time and keeps the revs higher while keeping in the lowest gear needed. You dont have to manually shift through the gears by either using the stick or the paddles shifters in order to take advantage of DS mode. D mode is for gas saving day to day driving.
