you can shift if you want to with the paddles or shifter but if not it will shift at red line and down shift more aggressively.

I drive with the manual mode most of the time, my first auto so me still adjusting to an auto tranny lol
For the guys with grounding kits do these make a noticeable difference to paddle shift mode?

good info, have you tried other rpm's? i was thinking about starting with 2000 and going up not down actually.
On the track, No, only because you have to do it very quick after you stage, and I don't want to accidently over do it. Even at that 1500 rpm, the car wants to go, so you have to keep the brake tight. I keep wanting to try a higher rpm.

I am 95% sure that it doesnt shift at redline. It shifts at the correct shift point for max powerband. I havent dyno'd mine yet so I am not sure what that number is, but I am guessing it is around 6200. When you hit the red line, it will bog down because of the rev limiter. Actually did it this past weekend by accident. oops....

This makes sense. I rarely ever floor it while in DS mode. Not unless I am really pissed off or I am at the track.

ya im pretty sure its redline. at least from what ive read/been told.

4 ways to drive an auto:
- leave it in D
- leave it in D and use paddle shifters
- pull it over for DS
- pull it over and use manumatic

as far as pros of DS, it shifts at redline so you get the most power obviously. of course, its a more aggressive way of driving so you have to be used to it. also, i believe the downshifts are more aggressive.

5 ways, you can also put it in DS mode and use paddle shifters.'

The only con of driving in DS mode all the time is that you use a little extra gas. Just guessing that it will prob drop your mpg by 2-5 miles on average depending on your driving habits.
