Review Cobb AccessPORT w/ custom mapping and tune, Say NO to Dyno Comp in AZ!
#34
Horror story no longer. I was introduced by a forum member to goodspeed performance here in Tempe, AZ. They seem like a badass shop! They have a maha dyno, only 1 of 4 shops in North America with that honor. Cobb stepped up, and like the great shop they are, I'm finishing my tune completely and accurately Monday night at goodspeed performance for free, and my updated dyno's and gains will be posted here to finalize this thread. Goodspeed performance and Cobb FTW!!!!!!!!

Well, I got the car fully tuned today, and they pulled anpther 9HP out of it, and I gained really nice TQ at high RPM's once the AF ratio was adjusted, and they played with the timing a bit. I don't have any print outs of the Dyno's yet, but will have access to them in about a week and will have hi-resolution pdf's linked in this thread. Cobb AP FTW!! Also, I'd like to really thank John Shafer and Joe at Cobb for helping me out, and footing the bill to finish my tune. Plus a huge thanks to Jon and Joe over at GoodSpeed Performance in Tempe, AZ. They run one of the best shops I've ever seen. They have a MAHA Dyno, and the thing is AMAZING!!! It changes your whole view and understanding of dyno's.

No lecture, it's just really hard to compare my dyno runs where my car put down 301.6 HP to the wheels, then I get on a maha and it shows like 260HP uncorrected. I'm not a genius, and I'm still trying to wrap my head around what this all means, and what my car is producing. I pretty much don't care at this point, and will turn to the drag strip to judge my cars performance. I'm hoping a sweet run in winter time, with good prep will get sub 13's. Keep my fingers crossed. Anyhow, charts and graphs will be posted as soon as I get access to them. One sad thing though, is on the Maha, my car was only making about 315 to 320 crank when it was stock, nowhere near 330 This is based on what I've gained with my add on, and what the drivetrain loss is with my car.

So your numbers were significantly different then the dyno report from dynocomp? I'm taking my IT Technician vendor exam tomorrow, wish me luck!

i didn't get a printout, we did soooo many runs, and it was so late, I told jon I'd wait for the data to be posted online. As far as my dynos being different.... try like 40hp different! I finished at 301.6hp at dyno-comp, and walked into goodspeed putting down like 264 or something, but he was saying thats not SAE corrected or whatever. They both, Jon and Joe at goodspeed used to work at dyno-comp before they left and opened their own shop. They said Richard at dyno-comp routinely enhances dyno numbers by tweaking inputs and stuff. I've given up on dyno's, i don't even understand them. I'm moving on to drag time slips

Other people with the same mods as me are hitting anywhere from 300-315whp from mustang/dynojet dynos and I only hit 280whp with the same identical mods. I thought of it as a disappointment at first but now i'm cool with it, they never got to experience the Maha where I did. Your car hauls *** and you'll pull good numbers at Firebird, that'll make you happy! So when you off to Firebird? I'll roll down there, I wanna run my car to see what kinda 1/4 mile times i can pull.
