In a real sports car a 6speed manual is a must. I have had 3 corvettes, an 05, C6 vert was auto and wished that I gotten the manual. Then I purchased an corvette 07 Z06 (only comes in manual 6 speed) and I just sold my 08 Corvette Z06 Manual only. I'm glad that they only make the Z06 in manual.
I purchase this G37 auto as I just want to get in it and drive, as this will be my work car. Also, you still get a little of both with the manual shift... (once again, I said a little bit, and I'm not going to be racing my G37, just driving it to work and for work purpose)
When I get another Vette it will be a Z06 6spd manual.
I would say get what makes you happy as You will be driving it. It doesn't matter what other people say about any of it as you will be writting the check for the car, get what you want and be done with it.
