There's certainly room for gearing advantage under 1st in the 5AT. What are you RPMs on a standing start in 1st? There's also plenty of room above 60, as the 5AT gearing gets a bit conservative starting with 3rd gear.
My guess is we see a 2/10ths performance improvement 0-60 and maybe 3-4/10ths in the 1/4 mile for the 09 7AT. Fuel mileage-wise, my prediction would be 1-2mpg overall.

I agree. There is plenty of room for improvement. Especially starting with 3rd gear.

I doubt there will be a 7SMG when nissan has just spent R&D money on a 7AT. That 7AT is going to be used in alot of there cars.

Sure, just make sure it's something you can remove and take with, otherwise you won't get the value out of it. Watch them release a dual clutch 7AT in 2010...lol, that would really be great... I'm sure they have something significant planned.
