Stripped bolt on Engine block

While installing Betty's grounding kit I stripped the bolt on the driver side engine block. I can't beleive I did this since I threaded it by hand most of the way and never got to the point where I was tightening it hard, it just never tightened up. Taking it out, the threads were still on the bolt.

I remember working with a tool and die kit to fix this type of issue back in the day, basically creating new threads and using a larger bolt. I'm probably going to bring this in to have it fixed. I was just wondering if that's the solution or is there another way?

Ouch! luckily, it shouldn't be hard to fix. You have the right idea, tap it out and it will be fine. In the all aluminum block you have to be careful not to over tighten any bolts. I've learned this the hard way over the years.

They say things happen for a reason... this little problem introduced me to a local Nissan/Infiniti specialty shop minutes from my house I knew nothing about. They fixed it with a longer bolt..for FREE.

Unfortunately no dyno but they will load ECU updates and are nissan/infiniti certified.
