Enginte cut-off at 6200 RPM

Hey all, not a G37 owner but I did just pick up my Nismo 370z. I haven't yet experienced the infamous "limp mode" but just made a video of my heat built up during my little cruise to show how fast the oil heats up.

I've been picking up some flack for the 4k driving but, IMHO I think that's mild for this car. Just some documentation of the issue. Hope something is done about this for all our sakes.

just a quick note on oil coolers. A few G35 sedan owners (and maybe even G37 coupes) have tranny oil coolers from factory while others do not. Look into the bumper mesh / opening and if you have one, it should be on the drivers side. I have made a thread a few months ago with a little info on it. Hope that helps. My G is a GCC spec 2ng gen sedan and all of the Gulf spec G's have it as far as I know. I have seen SOME US spec G's have it while others don't. Maybe it's a sport vs. non-sport thing? who knows.

Sorry to bring up a really old/dead thread, but I never saw a fix for this.
I have an 08 G37s 6MT and I took it to Oregon Raceway Park today, the first time this has been on a track. It did this same thing. I've driven hard in the past and never have I had this happen. ORP is a 2 mile 16 turn track with some decent elevation changes so you are in 2nd/3rd a lot going back and forth with the RPMs hanging around 5k-7k almost always.
It was engaged this mode after about 2 laps on a 75 degree day.
I'd love to know what the deal was with this.
Thanks.

I am thinking about getting the Stillen Supercharging kit installed later on, can I assume that they would install a sufficient oil cooler in this?

Get a nice 34 row setrab cooler. The oil in our VQ's just loves to overheat.

Limp Mode Fixed with Oil Cooler
I have to apologize. I thought I posted an update on this a long time ago. Shortly after my last post I had the Stillen oil cooler installed and it solved the limp mode. It never happened again and I tracked my car up to 2011. I no longer track my car and have removed the oil cooler. I bought a race prepped 944 in 2011 and am racing in NASA North East.
