Service Engine Soon light

I was at the dealership at 9:00 am today because the Service Engine Soon light came on a few days ago. I waited for an hour and they found a small Evap Leak. I ended up coming home and its been 5 hours!

Does it take this long to fix it?

Depends on how busy they are and if the parts are available but you did get a loaner, correct?

They'll take care of it though, not to worry. Just have patience.

No loaner because I'm not 21 yet.

Just got a call and said they won't be able to fix it because they don't have the parts. I guess I gotta go back in the day they get the parts.

I had this same issue happen to me TWICE.

First time was back in May, and they had to order a part which took about 2 days. But since I'm over 21, I had a loaner.

Second time was a few weeks ago, and they had the car for over a week. Again I had a loaner, but it took them about 4 days to diagnose the problem. They confirmed it was an EVAP leak, and replacing the same part from the first instance didn't resolve the issue.

If this happens again, I'm going to look into it further because the dealership simply says "Your gas cap was not screwed on tight enough". Thats BS, cuz even they weren't totally convinced they fixed the issue. I'm seeing this more and more, so keep an eye out for it.

Hopefully Infiniti takes notice and addresses it rather quickly...

You have to be 25, not 21. They wouldn't give me a loaner either since I'm only 21. Turns out the muffler they replaced was defective so they HAD to give me a loaner for the day.

Lol, what? You need to be 21 or older for a loaner.
