You are pretty much dead on when you said there will be similiar gains w/ doing the flywheel versus pulley. The factory dual mass flywheel is bulky, so freeing up some inertial energy will def. allow for greater throttle response and in some cases even hp gain as the energy from the transmission to the wheel and to the ground is decreased while on the dyno rollers

Nope..... because IMO if the car is revving faster its worth it... so if it doesnt show gains of HP... Im still ok with it ... as long as I can tell the car revs faster.
I have always been told that pullies free up power that is normally not used by the wheels...
