Octane boosters!

The octane boosters sold at stores like Pep Boys are garbage.
Its cheaper to buy 91 or 93 octane than it is to buy 87 and add a booster. Stock to slightly modified cars will not see much difference with a higher than 93 octane gas, the car is not tuned for that.
You can mix toulene in with the gas to raise the octane, that does work.

But honestly dude you likely would not notice ANY increase in HP and for many reasons I don't suggest using one. I know that I've thought about putting aviation fuel (100LL) in my G just to see if it was any faster but our mechanic suggested I not do so. The guy who owns a hangar next to ours puts avation fuel in his Murcielago and swears it runs much better but who knows.

Octane booster won't hurt your car. They do raise octane, though generally much less than the claims on the label. You can see a 2-4 octane number increase.
Your car is designed to run on 91 octane. Putting higher octane in it will do nothing. Not sure why you are asking about octane boosters then.
100 LL Avgas is leaded gasoline. Using this in your car will ruin the catalytic convertor very quickly. Your spark plugs will get lead fouled. You will need to change your oil much more frequently. The distillation properties of Avgas are very different than pump gas, so if anything the car may run worse. Your friend with the Murcielago is suffering from the placebo effect.

im not sure what a store sold "octane booster" is but i know for a fact that using methanol or denatured alcohol injectors will raise your octane to about 110. With no tune it will lower the temperature in the motor and in the exhaust by about 100-150 degrees but no noticeable performance gains. After a tune you could see anything from 40-90 HP gain depending on how safe of a tune it is.

its good to fill up on the highest octane gas possible 93 or 94 and use a octane booster..it helps clean out the motor if u been using crappy gas and blows out a lot of crap from the car...i like to use it after a oil change...i dont know why, but thats just something i been doing and it feels good and feel a difference in smootness, its $8 and cant harm ur motor only do good..cant complain bout that!

on the british tv show 5th gear they put in 4 different octane boosters in cars and measured the combustion increase...they all DECREASED power by 2%. so octane boosters would not help, in fact it'll probably make it worse.
