Few mods and dyno to share
We have been trying a few mods on this car to see how the G will react. We have been tuning and manufacturing parts for honda’s and Mitsubishis for a long time and in many ways, the VQ37 is a very different engine which seems to have a mind of its own. The reason why most vendors are slow making parts for this car is cause its just not easy… HKS and Haltech is still working hard to crake the ECU and currently there are no F.I systems that will retain the VVEL . I will write another post with our findings with the exhaust system of this car soon. Here are some mods to share that will make a little dyno proven power.
The base line was with BERK HFC on my 5AT. Conditions were exactly the same as all the runs were performed within 2 hours. Each mod was ran at least 3 times and averaged to make sure we got consistent results.
277.5 HP, TQ 34.2 KG
This was with a prototype voltage controller. What it does it’s an independent power unit that supplies the engine with sufficient power under load. Its actually very effective on most cars and you can see it significantly increase tq for the entire rpm. The factory voltage is fixed at 12 volts. By increasing the power it effective creates a much stronger spark thus making power and improve fuel economy. There are similar mods but ours its adjustable up to 18 volts in 0.5 increments to allow the driver try and find the optimal setting. It will be release soon here but not sure if it will make it to the states.
281.3 HP, TQ 34.2 KG
This was with HKS super ground wires. Infiniti was nice enough to provide 2 grounding points for this car but more is always better. We tried a few places and got very impressive results. The HP curves are much smoother and the some nice TQ gains down low.
