Installed Stillen Grounding Kit
Like some of you, I was a bit skeptical about the grounding kit. I mean, was this just a hype? But since Stillen.com has them on special for less than $100 with free shipping, I figured what the heck. Installation was pretty straight forward. I would say less than 60 minutes from start to finish, taking your time. After putting the plastic engine cover back on, the cabling is barely visible. Anyway, took the G for a test drive and I gotta tell ya, there is indeed a difference. The tranny shifts a whole lot smoother. When driving in DS mode, the paddle shifting is quick as it should be. Not sure if there's any improvement in performance but my butt-dyno tells me she feels more responsive. To those of you with 5AT's, I would recommend this mod.

This does nothing to the warranty. Also, does Stillens kit run a ground straight to the ecu?? My kit, the grounding gear one, has a lot more grounding points it looks like. I'm curious as to how they stack up to eachother in terms of how many grounding points, and where they are grounded. The wires look to be thinner also on Stillens kit. It ight just be the pic though.

Stillen's kit uses 8-guage copper wire with a translucent sleeve. If I remember correctly, there were 11 points of grounding and none of them touched the ECU. Instructions are included.

My understanding is that 8 guage is more than adequate. Some suppliers try to sell you on the thicker guage claiming it'll provide better results to justify charging significantly more for a kit. I don't have the background to say which is true. What I can say is that I'm very happy with the results I got off this Stillen kit. On the other topic, I can scan the instructions into JPG or PDF format. However, the B&W pics, which are important to the instructions, may not come out too clear. Let me know.
