Oil Consumption Issue cured with G37?
Apologize if this has been covered (I searched but after 7 pages of threads none, none addressed the issue).
Anyway - it looks like G35 and particularly 6MT models suffer(ed) from oil consumption related to piston ring flutter at high RPM or oil flow path issues. Even though mine is a 5AT - I'm curious if we've seen any similar issues on the G37. See this thread for more info: http://g35driver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=110973
Thanks for any feedback!

The only oil consumption problem reported on here I believe was by a member who switched over to synthetic on his first oil change. After that, he took it to the dealership who blamed it on the switching to synthetic oil to early if I remember right.

My G37 seems to be burning oil since day1. On the average I've been burningbetween 1.5-2 quarts every 3K miles. I'd switched to 5-30 Motul synthetic after ~2900 miles.
My service advisor said that only synthetic-blend is recommended from speaking to infiniti engineers? also mentioned that the reason is because of the aluminum construction?
An oil-consumtion test was started yesterday, for about 1K miles. QuakerState 5-30 syntheic-blend with OEM oil filter. Let's see what happens.

I have about another 400 miles to go before I take the beast back to Infiniti Dealership . I'll do a dipstick test today and see what I get.
I did notice that Infiniti sort of overfilled it the last oilchange.

The 06 rev-up motors from the previous gen G35 and 350z were the biggest oil guzzlers out there. Nissan/Inifiti replaced a few hundred engines under warranty. The issue was completely resolved in subsequent engines. So far, we thankfullly are seeing no trend with G37 high oil consumptions, which is great news!
My engine consumes absolutely no oil....5000 mile intervals for me, and I switched over to synthetic at 3000 miles.
