I had a major issue with this on my 05 Nissan 350Z. I had bought the car brand new and was babying it and hardly even took it past 65mph and after about 1800 total miles I started seeing a check engine light. Took it to the dealership and they knew something was wrong, but kept telling me too come back every 500 miles after they would fill it up so they can see how much it was burning. After doing that 3 times they then said that they would have to replace the motor, and catalytic converters and kept the car at the dealership for about a week. So yes this was an issue that I hoped they would of corrected before I got my G.

the dealership overfilled it which is why it was still showing about full after 600 miles.
now it's done 1000 miles and is about 75% full. so it seemed to have burned quite a bit already in another 400miles.
If the engine is to opened to fix this... to me this car is a lemon from the get go.
