Break In Period?

There are a few different ideas on how a car should be broken in.
One thing you should always do is let the car warm up to operating temp before you really start to get on it, I think that is more important than worrying about what RPM you should stop at.
As long as your not dumping the clutch or smashing the rev-limiter in every gear you should not have a problem. IMO

Thanks everybody. Having fun and loving the ride. I took your advice and have been easier on my clutch. No more smells or anything. The car seems to getting quicker the more I drive it. Must be breaking in. LOL!

so i made it to about 300 miles being nice and easy on in.. then i couldnt take it anymore.. needless to say im at 400miles on the odo now, and i've been driving it like it was meant to be driven the last 50 miles or so.
i really dont see any downside to it, i have a hard time believing these engines need over 1200 miles for them to be ok to rev past 4k rpms..

I ran a few hard runs within the first 500 miles in my car and didn't stick to the "no more than 4k RPM rule". I've launched at about 2200 and ran first to maybe 6k and then 2nd to about 7k after driving it for 300-400 miles using regular daily driver patterns over a long commute. My commute gives me a healthy mix of speeds every day.
I kept in mind that every single car I've owned that was new (last 4 cars) were broken in with some mixed driving with a few hard runs and I've never had a problem with any of my cars.
It never takes me long to get through the first 1k miles anyway because I drive about 88 miles a day, 4 days per week and maybe another 30 miles over the other 3 days of the week on average.
