15,000 mile service
I went to South Bay Infiniti dealership to fix my moonroof because there was a loose bolt. After the service was done... They told me I am close to get a 15,000 mile service... where they tip all the fluids, change the air filter, and balance the tires (alignment??) So, my question is this... should i get this done for $309?? My car is a lease and the lease guy said I dont have to get these 15,000 or 30,000 mile service done if I am not going to buy the car after the lease. The lease contract does not say I have to get these service done. Only requirement is oil change every 3750 mile. Has anyone came to this situation??

Edit
Does this look reasonable??

That sure seems like too much for a 15k service to me.
LOF - $45.00
Tire Balance - $50
Top off fluids - $free (they cover this in their shop supply charges)
Air Filters - $60 (not sure)
I would say $150 tops....I would ask for a break down for each dollar and see what they say.

they probably do fluids, rotate tires and change air filter (cabin and intake)
id save a few bucks and do it yourself. Also gives to a chance to learn more about your car.
what does it being a lease car have anything to do with you not doing the 15k/30k services? Doesnt that stuff HAVE to be done or it voids warranty if something breaks?

nothing would break. its a waste of money if you are going to keep the car after the lease is over with. if you want to spend the money to that, all the power for you.

I thought that the 15k/30k services were required, no matter what happens to the car at the end of the term.
what I meant by breakage was ... lets say something breaks down the road at like 18k miles .. they say ... oh, well, you didnt get your 15k service doen and the diff fluid was low, which caused it to lock up/break ... your at fault ... yay/nay?

oh the service is required for 15k and 30k? didnt know that. eeh, if something was due to not changing the fluids, then yes it is your fault. thats why you should do it yourself without spending 300 dollars for like what 100 dollar job?

my g/f just told me that she got a letter for her chebby truck and if she didnt bring it in for the 15k service that it would void her warranty, /shrug . I dunno
I usually let the dealership do all the work on my termed car, that way they (and I) have copies of everything thats done.

dunno, thats just what she told me.
edit - she said their 15k service was a free one. You paid for oil change, but whatever else they did was free, was just a checkover.
... hate it when im not provided with all the information up front

This will not break anything... fluid is covered if you purchased the oil change plan when you leased the car... the main point of this service is to put your car in good shape for later use... IF you end up buying your car after the lease... This service is expensive because of the LABOR fee...
