na i like to spray through the gears and not let off the nitrous bc if u let off the nitrous and get back on it the chances of a backfire are greater.
It backfires anyways everytime I shift with the throttle switch. I kinda like that fireball when it backfires. How much are you spraying? Now you got me thinking of installing one for my G. I just missed that feeling when it kicks in. Is there any ways of retarding our timing? What plugs are you using now?
not exhaust backfire. i mean a nitrous backfire inside the intake manifold. im spraying a 100 shot. w. the stock timing and im using diamond fire plugs
The throttle switch was nice but you're constanly spraying till you lift your foot off the pedal. I usually do a short burst just to get me up the speed or till I passed the car I'm racing. On the track with the throttle switch, launching the car from first gear is a task. I had a better 60' time without spraying on 1st gear. I had mine attached to the shifter and I friend of mine installed his on the steering wheel, much harder to use IMO.
I'll agree with you on the 60's but as far as not wanting to spray through the whole gear? You'll have to enlighten me as to why you wouldn't want the extra 100hp the entire way through other than not wanting to risk your motor.

Seen one to many nitrous back fires split blocks. Gotta be safe with the stuff. Usually it's caused by to much fuel/nitrous puddling up in the intake manifold and igniting when the valves open and the combustion heat hits it. This usually occurs when there's not enough air flowing through the manifold such as when your launching or using it to spool a big turbo or spraying to low in the RPM band.

I'm talking about when you're just driving/cruising around and a mustang starts to pick on you. I'll spray just enough to pull a car or two then let go of the button while still flooring it. Just a short burst to save some juice and my motor.
Just the thought of missing a gear then gas it up while spraying is a disaster waiting to happen. But if you got an auto that shouldn't be a problem.

Do you have some pics showing where you put the nozzle?

Personally I like to destroy anyone that I race . But I understand your point to. Just another reason why I want an aftermarket short throw shifter. Less chance of a missed shift.
i have a tune... i tune the car w. the nitrous. basically just fukc w. the nitrous/fuel mixture. u dont need to lower the timing for a 100 shot now if u go higher then yea u should. i have a buddy w. a 350z 99,000 miles more than half on an "untuned" nitrous kit...
