Idle RPM high and SES light on

G37S 6MT

SES light came on, but also my rpm jumps a little now when i start the car and than it settles at 1000 instead of 750- 800 like it used to. Took it in to get looked at today and first they said it was a Mass air flow sensor problem. I'm still waiting to hear from them what is wrong with my car. I had it since april 23 and has 1750 miles. Anyone else with the same problem or advice?

Post up the codes that your car was throwing and we can hopefully see what the issue is.

I was so pissed off this morning that I didn't even look. But the code that came up was for a faulty MAF. The stealership called me up asking me what grade of gas do I use and I told them premium. The mechanic thought I was using regular, since the engine was acting like it had regular in it when he test drove it. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what BS they tell me.

Yeah well service called me back and said they replaced the MAF sensors and put on some from another car on the lot and the same problem. So now they don't f****** know what is wrong and are keeping the car to do more tests tomorrow.

Now they think is bad fuel injectors, since they read a missfiring cylinder.

Well just to update this. The service dept have taken my entire engine apart according to them and everything seems to be working okay but the problem still there. So now they think is a bad fuel pump. My just happens to be a rare case. So I am running out of patience, the car is only 3 weeks old now and has 1750 miles. God help them tomorrow if it is not fixed.

Makar... we are in the same boat!!! Bad MAF, idle surge, rough idle, needle jumps once step on the gas, SES light coming on... too long of a story.. Took mines 3 three times to the dealership. After getting it back on their THIRD try NO SES but rought idle is there as well at the surge issue. Called consumer affair and was told to bring it back and they will coordinate with the dealership to getting it repaired with infiniti's mechanic. If issue persist one more time. They will replace the vehicle! BTW i only had 1700 miles on mines.

Damn man that sucks. Infiniti consumer affair is going to call me back monday when someone looks at my complaint. I don't even want the damn car anymore. I want it replaced! So far they keep guessing. Friday they changed the fuel pump and the problem still there.

Yeah that would be good. But for you sounds like they just followed the lemon law. At least for CT is 4 tries or same problem and cant fix it in 30 days or more. Is the lemon law the same for your location G37SUM? I hope I dont have to wait until the lemon law kicks in to get it replaced.

These idiots called me today and told me that they narrowed down the problem to just a bad fuel injector for cylinder 4. They are going to change it tomorrow. But they said they checked all the fuel injectors last week and they were ok. So we will see tomorrow. Meanwhile Infiniti is going to call me back wed about my case, since I want a replacement now.

Let me know how your car turns out. But if you don't mind listing everything they have done to your car so far.

With my car supposevely they have checked:
Spark plugs
Wires
Coils
Fuel injectors
Fuel Pump
MAF sensors

Replaced:
MAF sensors to test and same problem
Fuel Pump (say it helped but problem still there so BS)
Today they are changing the fuel injector for cylinder 4 (this didn't fix anything)

This is BS!!!! they can't fix a damn thing. Now Infiniti Tech Line thinks it might be a bad oxygen sensor. I love the way they try guessing what is wrong until they eventually get it right. Consumer Affairs doesn't seem to do a thing just take their sweet as time. So it looks like my best hope is wait for the lemon law to kick in, 9 days in the shop now just 21 to go.
