yeah i thought about doing all of that to but i said hell with it and went big and being one of the first deffinately hit some road bumps but they have fixed them selves... as far as tunning the ecu is so dam smart you cant really tune it much at all unless you have the technology to rewrite the computer or want to spend the 3-4000. on a full fcon system your not going to be able to tune this car the way it should be..... AAM is getting this program and the trained personel to be able to rewrite the computer..... i think that is alot better than putting in a full fcon system.... i dont know alot about it, i dont tune cars, but that is what i was told....hope this helps alittle

Now going purely off max HP it is as follows: And these are all Dyno Jet weighted numbers.
Stock ECU & Stock Air - 293 HP
Stock ECU & Fujita - 296 HP
Techno ECU & Stock air - 299 HP
Techno ECU & Fujita - 304 HP
Techno ECU, Fujita & HFC - 312 HP
ABOUT 21 HP GAIN
But the numbers are real misleading because they each peak at different RPM's and the gains in the mid-range are kind of different from the peaks. Like the Stock air box and the tuned ECU has a slight advantage in HP in the MID, until you hit 6900 RPM's them the Fujita and tuned ECU has more.

It shouldn't be too hard to recode, compile, and reflash the ECU. It just requires the right expertise to do it. As with any security in the digital age, if there is a will there is a way. Things may get more involved with newer cars, but it will be circumvented.

Thats really part of the problem... they can't just reflash the ECU. After they flashed it they had to put back a lot of the original programming. The ECU no longer only controls the engine. It is part of the computer system of the car. The ECU talks to ALL aspects of the car. And has memory of EVERY system on the car. According to Tadashi. So the best that they can do now is try and adjust the parameters to do what we want it to do. And yes there are always back doors. Just watch the MATRIX.

Were the dyno's done hood up or hood down?
I guess someone should monitor the IAT sensor while driving and compare the readings stock vs. an aftermarket "short" intake.
I would guess that midrange response, throttle response, and consistency would be better after tuning as well as getting about 10 peak HP and a fatter torque curve. I find that sometimes I'll get on it and it goes pretty well, other times it seems to be missing 20 HP.
I'd like to see 1/4 mile runs/ trap speed differences between tuned/untuned. Seems like a good mod for $500.
Last thought is that California typically has 91 octane premium, I wonder what could be done with 93 octane mapping.

To all that may be interested, Technosquare just finished the Reflash for the G37Coupe MT Prototype car. The car came to us already with a prototype HKS Exhaust (which includes downpipe and mufflers), but stock cats, stock headers, and aftermarket intakes were installed.
Got some good strong numbers throughout the entire band, and the car now pulls all the way to the new Rev limit, which is 500 more than stock (although on the graph, it doesnt show it, but it is.) Things changed were Timing, A/F, throttle control, rev limiter raise and speed limiter removal.
TechnoSq is quite happy with the results on this prototype car, this was done using 91 California pump gas. 324.9 rwhp, 250.6 ft-lb torque....
93+ octane states could see a little more with more advanced timing...
