But hey, it's your money. If putting synthetic oil in your engine makes you sleep better than night, then by all means, go for it.

BTW, if anyone thinks otherwise, please post some used oil analysis results as proof.

Agreed, if you change your oil every 3750 conventional oil will do fine. By why change your oil so often? The primary reason for using synthetic oil is extended drain intervals. 7500 miles is nothing for a good synthetic.

I will bring Mobil 1 if I have to, never heard a bad thing about Mobil 1.
Make sure you use Mobil M1 0-40W and not 5-30W. From oil analysis, 5-30W shows a lot of iron content. The 0-40W though has 40W weight is closer to a 30W.

The oil may last 7500 but I think the stock oil filter may only be as effective up to around 4 -5K miles unless you use after market filter.

Then why does Infiniti have 2 schedules... 3750 and 7500 if the oil filter will go bad?

The oil filter does not go bad. It will last well over 7500 miles.

What are the terms/conditions difference between the 3750 & 7500 intervals from the stealership? Is the 7500 just for synthetic change?

either way you guys are taking the whole advice on how conventional oil is supposed to seal engines properly for a while first before moving to the more viscuous synthetic right? I was thinking about doing my first upcoming 3750 change with conventional and then the 7500 with synthetic.....any input?

Huh? There is no waiting period to use synthetic oil. Conventional oil does not 'seal' better. Synthetic oil is not more viscous. Many new cars come with synthetic oil straight from the factory, mostly high end cars, BMW, MB, Porsche, Ferrari, Corvette. It's an OWT that you need to run conventional during break-in. Engines are run on a test stand in the factory and are broken in before you ever drive them. Maybe this applied to cars made 10 or 20 years ago, but the world has changed...
