Cobb access port
They now have this for the 350z and it looks like they actually own a g37 and are thinking about building an access port for us too. The best part of this tuning option is that you don't have to hack into any wires and you can set everything back to stock so when you take your car in for warranty work there is nothing they can say to you about alterations.
You can read about it's capabilities here:

MaxToTheG37 started a thread over there:

if anyone else is interested in something like this I'd recommend posting up and showing that we are all looking for a tuning option. Can't hurt showing there is interest and might even help them make it more of a priority.
This isn't new btw, Subaru's and other cars have had this option for quite some time.
I absolutely have no affiliation with Cobb, I just really want the access port!

Got this reply on Tuesday
Ben,
We are doing some final testing for the G35 AccessPORT currently. When that is released we will move forward with further G37 AccessPORT development. There is currently no estimated timeline, but we do have a dedicated team on the task! For the most up to date new product development news, I would suggest keeping an eye on our blog page: blogs.cobbtuning.com
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Cheers,
Justin

excellent. hopefully they'll give us the luv and not make us wait too long. I've definitely have noticed many people are impatient here so if they can be first this community will make it worth their while hehe. You really can't beat being able to flash your own ecu back and forth from stock as far as I'm concerned. Plus it has some other pretty sweet features above and beyond just tuning.

I've contacted Cobb by phone and e-mail. Both replies estimate and end of summer release for the G37 AccessPORT. It's helping the 350z on the mid and high range, I hope it does the same for the g37.

Look around the site, this took me 3 minutes to find in the blog section. It's in the works so lets be patient.

You guys will get old and die before Cobb releases anything. They are quite possibly the worst company at keeping their promises. I've seen some of their products delayed 2 years. Especially ones that are "non-essential" ... and the G37 will be non-essential as soon as the GTR his the shores.
Cobb is a good company but don't wait on them ... you'll end up waiting forever.

They have a GTR already so why would they wait til its sold here before tinkering with it? and they have a G37 so... that makes it essential in my book... why have the car and let it sit without modding it?
but i agree with you on the time frame... Ive heard the same thing...

They're a small company, limited number of employees to work on projects. I owned an 07 Legacy GT before this car. In Sept. of 2006 they claimed they would have an accessport available for the 07 cars in the next month or so. They strung along owners for at least a year until Dec. 07 when they finally released it. They had an 07 Legacy GT sitting on their property for a year and a half before they starting creating a product for it. So having cars sitting there isn't a big deal for them. I honestly believe that the only reason they did finally release it is because the new 08 WRX is based on the Legacy platform and so at that point it was economically viable for them to start working on it.
