What do you guys prefer on the G37S Semi-Auto (Paddle Shifters) or Manual Transmission? And why?

I got the Manual because I like driving a stick. Just something about the clutch and the extra gear. I know our clutch isn't the smoothest to engage but it is just alot more fun.

My past 3 cars have all been manuals. (Trans Am, G35 6MT, G37S). I'm one the only girls I know that prefer a manual trans.

I got the auto with paddle shifters because I do alot of driving in Atlanta traffic and driving a manual in traffics sucks! Been there, done that. Plus, after test driving both I really like the Drive Sport mode on the Auto. Not to mention the paddle shifter are SWEET! Really fun to drive with the paddles.

I prefer the auto, especially with the G, because you have 3 modes. Regular drive, sport drive and manual (semi-manual). Plus you also have the paddle shifters.

+1 for auto w/ paddle shifters.

If I didn't have to commute in rush hour traffic 5x a week, I'd get the manual.

I guess that I am the second girl who likes the manual. I had plenty of cars that were manual. Just like them better.

I drive in traffic all the time with a manual. It's no big deal. Manual are more fun and get better mileage. Automatics have no place on sports cars.

I had a Suby 6 MT. This is my first Auto and only because of the above. Only problem is remembering when I am in manual. The 1-2 shift is critical.

+1

My last few cars were manual and I got tired of it in Vegas traffic. Maybe I got a little lazy too but I do enjoy the paddle shifters!! It's the bes of both worlds for me.
Ideally I would have a manual sports car for the weekends and my G during the week!!
Someday.....

Manual is defently a must for a car with 330 hp. If the auto had a 6-speed maybe I would have gone that way. BMW's seem to be stalking me lately in Santa Barbara, CA. I feel the need for speed! My gas useage has defently gone up since I past the 5,000 mile mark.

Manual doesn't always get the best gasmilage over these new autos especially for having such a close ratio gear setting but I driven a manual up in austin and other hilly places and was never annoyed about it. Driving a stick has became more instinctive and I feel like I have more control and better gear selection for the speed and power desire.

That's why I purchased the 6-speed. I love the fourth gear!
