All of the suggestiosn will make a little bit of a difference- you might save $5 a week (if you have to fill up each week) if you go from conservative to ultra conservative- perhaps $10 a week(if you fill up each week) if you go from ultra aggressive to ultra conervative. But to make a significant difference you need a different car.
But then again significant to one is not to another.
The difference for me between "spirited" driving and "grandma" driving is about 60 miles on a full tank... for me, that adds up over a year's worth of driving.
I've got the 5AT and with cruise on the highway I have found a big difference between setting it at 75 and setting it at 80. It makes me believe that the VVEL changes somewhere within that range. Also it I'm at about 3300 miles and it seems to be getting a little better mileage as it goes. It also seems to be really breaking in power wise at the top of the RPM range.
