Car giving off a little smoke from under hood today?
Okay so I just picked up the car yesterday, drove it home about 40 miles from the dealership on steady highway speeds, no problems at all. Stalled maybe twice but thats about it.
Today i took her out for a quick 10 minute drive somewhere and when i pulled into my garage and put the car in neutral, some smoke started coming out from the engine bay through the grille. I smelled a little bit of a burning smell, popped open the hood but the smoking stopped. Smelled the burning smell still, but then i left the motor running for a few minutes and everything seemed fine.
The car has 152 miles on it, is this breaking in burning? I drove it to a max of 3500 RPMs and only upto 3rd gear, no more than 30 mph when i went out for those 10 minutes today. Also when i started the car today, the exhaust sounded really loud for a like 15-20 seconds and then it was normal.
Is this all normal during break-in? When should i be concerned...im still getting used to the clutch on this car and this is my first manual car. Any tips during the break in to help avoid any clutch damage?

mine didnt smoke... are you sure it wasnt steam? And how thick was the smoke as well...? And yes when you first start your car in the morning your exhaust will be louder... Notice the car is idling at 1500RPMs or so... Helping the engine warm up

it might have very well been steam...it wasnt a thick cloud of dark smoke or anything like that...ive smelled radiators bursting, oil burning, tranny's going, water pump going, etc on previous cars...and no it wasnt anything like that...i think i overdescribed the "burning" smell

Just a new engine burning off the little oil that they use to keep the car internals looking new.
Also if the dealer washed the car there's a chance it might mist up from under the hood, but it goes away as soon as you open the hood.
Keep the rpm normal, but don't run on low gears...just don't push the car too much till about 1200 miles...then open her up steadily
The clutch needs to break-in also within the first 500 miles or so.
And don't worry too much..this car is tougher than you may think at first.
It will have a noisy idle on cold start, it's normal...even a Ferrari sounds like a scooter when you idle. It's always good practice to let the idle drop below 1000rpm before driving away.
keep an eye on the oil level once in a while.
and watch the curbs!
