I take it you have encountered an experience you don't want to talk about.
Our car does a pretty good job letting us free with the VDC on, but sometimes you just want to slide around.

I am now in the habit where I disable VDC everytime I get in my car. I'm a very experienced driver and if the rear end comes out its b/c I meant for it to come out. The whole point of doing that is so when it does catch you off gaurd you can handle it.
TBH, I think this car is extremely linear in the way it kicks out. If you pull a 180 when you kick it out you either overreacted, were on snow/ice/very loose dirt or you don't know how to drive a rear wheel drive vehicle at a level where you should disable VDC
With that said, I do drive with VDC on in snow b/c these wide tires are **** in the snow. I would probably drive with VDC on if I were racing down Pike's Peak in Colorado, however I'm not quite nuts enough to do that and be pushing the car to its absolute maximum cuz I value my life. Also, I've only pushed the car to its limits a few times with VDC on and the way it responded was very abnormal to the way I know the car should react, so I actually feel much more comfortable with VDC off

Bumping a real old thread, but I was driving ( forgot to turn VDC back on) downhill, accelerating moderately, and my right tire caught black ice. Got spun around, complete 180, spinning around at 40 mph. I locked up the brakes, and I got lucky.
My lesson, VDC on in the winter. I only turn it off when I'm drifting, rowing through gears
