Anyone have any documented limits of the vlsd? In my mind if you're putting 400+ lb-ft of twist you should be looking at a locker or posi for sure.

Not sure of limits of stock VLSD. But if you just go with a aftermarket Quaife or Carbonetics, you'll be fine. Something IMO that should be done reguardless.

I've seen countless amounts of Z's with 400+lbs of TQ and there were never any problems there. I really don't think there's much issues to be had with this piece at high levels. But don't hold me to it.

The stock rear should hold fine, as long as ur not running some sort of drag slicks. If you run very sticky tires, and you launch at anything higher than 4K RPM's, you risk snapping those axles.....

With street tires, either the clutch takes the beating or you will receive wheelspin

catch 22 tho... with that much power traction will be an issue on street tires. Even the stickier variety like the Goody GSD3's...

GSD3's are not sticky at all

Huh?? That's about the closest you'll get to a drag radial in a street tire. I had a pair of 315/35/17's on my firebird that almost dead hooked new. I bought a pair of MT ET drags after that pair wore out. They're pretty damn sticky and tracked great in the rain. The DR's were scary in the rain and I don't scare easily.

they are not even close to the softest street tire nor are they stickest by any means. the oem re050a is much softer rubber, all the re50 models are softer, the mich Pilotsport ps2 is much softer, advan ao48s much softer stone re01r wayy softer. my point is there are much much more soft tires then the years. they are pretty hard on the scale when compaired to other cars on the market. which is why they are not oem equip on vettes. they use the F1.. why because its softer. the GSD3 is a rain tire it has extremely large grooves cut out to dispurse water. more grooves means less contact patch. that means less stick. I have driven on pretty much every major tire that is on the market right now including the gsd3 and it is not anywhere near the softest nor stickest rubber at all.

because with turbo's comes more power, more power relates to less traction. Traction in controlled in large part by tires.hense the topic of tires is relivent.....
