Battery Issues?
A friend of mine was telling me that the Nissan Altima's push start button was having some problems. Specifically when the battery died, there was no way to start up the engine. It would have to be towed to the dealership!?
It might be early to tell but has anyone had issues with their push start ignition regarding a dead battery? Thanks for the input.
P.S. I will be a G37 owner in August. I'm saving up to put down 25K in order to keep my monthly at around low to mid $300.

If you have a dead battery I don't see how you could start any car regardless if it is push start or not. Not sure what your friend is talking about or maybe I am reading it wrong. I doubt there is an issue with the push button when your battery dies and you jump the battery due to forum members disconnecting their batteries to reset their ECUs. They could start their engines after this so I wouldn't think there would be a problem with the push to start with a recharged dead battery.

It's a best practice to always have a charged battery when you try and start a car..lol
Since you effectively running off another car's battery when you jump a car I can't see why the push button start wouldn't work.

I remember push-starting our beater cars a few times w/ my high-school & college buddies, but I have a hard time picturing that w/ a 3700lb G37S. It just doesn't seem right.

Not sure about this computer on wheels, normally as long as you have the key tuned to on, the alternator is good and you have a manual trans your battery can be dead and however you can get the car rolling, i.e. push, pull, roll, you should be able to let the clutch out in second gear is usually best and engine is running. Again this is how it worked for the old school stuff and you could even take the battery out of a running car and it would not die (not good to do for the alternator or safety) just possible
