I feel like a morone. I had 350z for 5 years and traded it for the G journey (AT w/all options except sport package of course). I've been driving in automatic mode and felt it was smooth, but was missing low-end punch. Today, I accidentally shifted into "DS" mode...what a difference! Never going to drive in standard auto mode anymore (unless on highway). This mode is great in the city (in ATL, you never get above 45 on city streets). Feels like my Z, but downshifts are awesome under breaking. Affects MPG, but worth it in my opinion. If "DS" was actually an experiment by Infiniti, I hope they keep the option and continue to improve it b/c its great.
BTW: Don't have the problem with the "delay shifts" as some have posted. Maybe that was fixed after first G's produced?

i never really drove in DS mode yet, i been on regular D auto all the time, i will test out the DS mode soon and also play with the paddle shifts as well.

yes. DS mode is very reactive upon driver input and can alter shifting habits rather quickly. If you go out and drive like a granny in DS, it'll shift very mildly in the lower rpms but when you change over to slamming it hard and hard throttle everywhere, it'll start maintaining that driving habit, rev matching it high in the rpms when slowing and keeping it aggressive. I love it.
