Burning smell when I gas hard

Last night, when I was showing off my G to my friend in the back seat, he told me he noticed a burning smell when I pushed it to over 100mph. I also noticed a slight burning smell the second time I did it. Is this normal for a G?

^^Exactly, the first month or two you will get that if you run it hard or get it too hot. I would n ot worry about it as long as you are over, at the very least, 500 miles.

You are smelling everything "breaking-in". You are getting the brakes and hoses and exhaust hot. The first few times this happens residue from the manufacturing process will burn off. Consider it like new car smell.

was the fresh air button on? that was probably the reason, i notice the car smelling of clutch burning when i just drive it hard and the fresh air button was on.

You will get much of this from the brakes and exhaust when new. The is normal for most new cars.

Everybody's saying its the new car burn. I have 7300 miles on it and its about 5 months old. Its also an AT.

Could it be the oil? I got it changed at some 10 minute penzoil place, not the stealership.

Also its a slight smell, not burning sensation smell. Just wondering if anyone experienced this before.

And the fresh air button is always on, get some better air circulation for better MPG

I only had that smell, for two days after purchasing. I have had my G since November 07, and no smell since then...

Is there a way to check the oil to see if its good? What color/texture do you look for in the dipstick?
