Is it normal?
by disengage u mean not have pushed in, and by engage u mean pushed in, correct? some people look at this differently, just makin sure cause I am gonna try it.

HEy guys I got a call from my friend. His friend is a mechanic and he worked on G35s and 350z. He has taken apart transmissions and stuff. The rattling noise comes from a metal piece that you are able to move with your hand. That piece just rattles against the transmission.

I'm a first time 6MT driver, but I think my car may also be making these noises.

I thought it was just the fact that I'm still learning, but it sounds more like the noises everyone has.

Sorry make you confuse,
park the car. (not run)

Disengage: pushed in,
Engage: Not pushed in

Okay, I just pulled the car into the garage, I heard a weird noise so I pushed down the clutch, and the noise was gone. My car is defn making the chatter noise that everyone is talking about.

It also makes the noise VERY loud when I turn the car off when it is in N.

My friend has done everything you can imagine to a G35 and 350Z, supercharge, turbo, auto to manual, you name it hes done it.

The rattle comes from the flywheel because it is a 2 piece design. The 2nd piece of the flywheel is what is making the noise. So when the clutch pedal is pushed down the pressure plate will push the two pieces together, therefore eliminating the rattle. Every Z and G he has worked on has had it. So it is normal and has been normal for the past 4-5 years with the Zs and Gs. Research 2 piece flywheels if you want to know more about the design.

You want it gone? Get a one piece flywheel next time you do a clutch job.

im the other way around

engage is when its pushed it. dont know if that is the right way of saying it.

the sound came after like 2-3k miles, so this is not normal. if it was normal, it will make that sound right after i turn on the car the first time at the dealership.

When the pedal is pressed "engaged" the clutch is released or "disengaged.

So you engage the pedal, do disengage the clutch. Confusing?
