When does the G37 get some mild cams?

Variable valve timing still doesn't do as good as aftermarket cams. I want cams on mine as well. My STi when I had it also had the variable valve timing but you still needed after market cams. Plus the sound of aftermarket cams is heavenly at idle. 272 would be a good fit. 280 is just too agressive.

VVEL is for intake side and is dynamic, meaning angle and lift go from timid (idle) to aggressive (full WOT I think) based on load. 280 is the max lift for this, anyone requiring more than this needs special cams and you need to change whole lot of internal stuff.

So there is not much you can do with the intake side, unless someone wants 280 lift across the powerband!!

The exhaust cams are still like previous VQ engines, I think the lift is mild on this side, about 245, JUN makes after market exhaust cams. Few more companies are releasing their own cams in future.
