G37s dyno report

This morning I went to the dyno for a baseline run. It was a 60* morning and the car cooled for half an hour after a 45 min. drive. Two runs on a DynoJet and the best we could come up with were 274 rwhp and 230 rwtq.

I know this will be asked again, but the car is completely STOCK.

My stock 05 STi (300hp/300tq) was around 247whp, 255wtrq on an AWD dyno - after the downpipe and ecu flash it was 292whp, and 322wtrq. So the G has more driveline HP loss vs AWD Suby?

nice. you should have gone for more runs...when i used to have my Z i would get the best results by the 3rd and 4th run.

SAE corrected? 5AT or 6MT?

good job. now you have a baseline when you do mods.

stock set up seems to run rich (not uncommon for stock VQs)...i think a little more power to be had if you are able to lean the a/f to 13.0

Nice. How many miles does she have? I wonder if big difference occurs from the break in.

I believe they are SAE corrected numbers. I figure that it was about a 17% loss on my 6mt.

I would have done more runs, but at $100 for 2 I had enough

Yes, and torque was up like 80, and we all know that HP sells cars, and torque wins races :-)

The dyno is dead on. Expect 18% from the 6MT and 20% from the 5AT, same as the G35.

Check your math. It seems the Subi also has 18% drivetrain loss, so I guess it's the same, but your torque was about 15%.

That means a good tune should coax some nice power out of these things....

I had a modified suby as well, but your stock numbers are a little high. I think you must have made your runs on on a dyno that reads high because the general conscensus on STi's is that they dyno around 225 to 235whp.

when i sold my STi, it was at 397whp / 406tq

Yeah me too. It was an 02 with bolt ons making around 350 hp. Never did an dyno runs but I ran a 12.9 at LACR.

Back to G37 topic

Automobile mag did dyno pulls on a g37 and got 287 rwhp. Goes to show the variances in dynos and weather effects on the numbers

Numbers look right on par with other G37's that have been dynoed. Nice work...now start modding it!
