High RPM's

Hey everyone!!!! Has anyone else thought that the RPM's are kinda high on this car when cruzin at like 75-80 mph??? I have the 5AT. No complaint really just wondering what you guys thought! I freakin loooooove this car!!!

Yea, I think they screwed-up on this one. Really the AT should be a 6 speed. Maybe they will use the new GT-R 6AT at some point.

Since most of my driving is highway, I'd gladly give-up some low end pop for a cruising speed of 70 at 2K rpm.

It's high. My mileage on the highway is good tho, so I guess it's ok? I wouldn't want a 6th gear in the auto as I like the gearing as it's set up now.

3K in this car is like 2K in the previous G's. When it redlines at 7500K 3K is nothing

RPMs are fine condsidering we have a larger RPM range then the previous coupes. My mileage is getting better as I am adding more miles to the engine.

how high do you guys usually rev 1st gear to? and 2nd? and 3rd?

I'm only getting 16mpg on local and little over 20mpg on highway which seems too low even with VVEL that supposed to be improve the mileage.

If there is one thing that Infiniti can improve is 6AT to improve the cruising mileage like BMW (30mpg for 335i)

Depend hows your diving. Sometimes 3k, 5k, sometimes 7500. On average probably about 4k rpms

I agree. With the higher rev limit, I like the revs right where they are.

i had never owned my own stick car, just drove my friends rsx for a year but he let me redline and yada yada. right now im still breaking her in so im only revving till 3-4000. once i hit my 1200, just wondering how high i shud go with 1st gear and 2nd. kinda noob question but is it safe to rev 1st to 7500 and 2nd? =T

Sometimes it is. Just dont redline it every time you shift a gear.

well the cars redline is 7500rpm....so its made to withstand the abuse....Hit it all you want....that is when necessary.
