Does your engine generate ALOT of heat?

I've noticed that my car is generating ALOT of heat even over short distances. At one point, when it was raining, I even saw steam coming out the front. And when I park my car in the garage after coming home from work, the car warms up the my very cold garage for quite a while. Since this is my first sports car, I'm uncertain whether this is normal or not. Or if maybe one of my intakes isn't properly working or dirty? I'm not very car savvy so can anyone help me out?

well it would make sense considering the G37 is a larger engine than the G35..

LOL, the size of the engine has absolutely NOTHING to do with the amount of heat a motor releases.

There was a lot of heat during the first few hundred miles, but now, not so much.

Cars nowadays are built to run hotter and thus cleaner - or so I've read in some articles. It reduces build-up of carbon.

Are you sure you haven't been reading the synthetic snake oil propaganda? The thermostat on a G37 opens at 170 Degrees F. That's a little cooler than older cars.
