g37 clutch and engagment revision?

i heard they are revising the 6mt on the g37.

i hate the engagment, clutch and rough shift in my 2006 coupe.

i drove the honda s2000 and it felt like a dream, smooth engagment... easy clutch and smoth shifts. i may not be the best on stick but the s2000 is such a smooth manual tranny

any revisions on the upcoming 08 coupe?

From the articles I read, it should be revised from the '07 Sedan for smoother engagement.

The engagement on the G37 6MT is much improved. Test drive it and you'll be able to feel it instantly (That is, over the 06' 6MT).

So why are dealers and consumers saying there has been a BIG upgrade and fix/changes on the new 6mt.. Is this anything that can affect the performance of the vehicle, or it's reliability down the road? like causing problems and stuff?

I think its much better now. Easier to engage and to drive. The older ones to me felt like Stage 3 racing clutches. Like other guy said, test drive it and you will fall in love. I test drove one 50 miles away from me and to see teh color in person and after the test drive was driving 400 miles to Elk Grove to buy mine. Well wortht everything.

Yep, there's chatter unless you're holding the clutch in during shutdown.

I don't feel so bad because I hear the same noises when Porsches go by. It has the same tinny sound characteristics. The dealer said that the chattering is b/c of the light materials used to keep the assembly weight down.

Is it me or does anyone else notice the *chirp* sound the clutch makes when pressed down. I only hear it during startup. Nothing bad, just different.

To rid of the chatter on shutdown, simply press the clutch in, and shut down the car, you wont hear it no more. Many MT cars do this chatter, and its not just in our G's. Just get used to pushing in the clutch when you shut down and it will become a habit

My 2k4 Z had the "chatter". I did my best to destroy that transmission and engine, but it survived 90,000 miles of me. I also downshifted and pegged the RPMs ( probably did 10k RPMs for most of a second when it had 5K miles on it ) once and never had a problem with the engine.

I believe it is in the nature of heavy (strong) engines and transmissions to make heavy noises.
