Z1 mail in tune

I haven't seen any reviews on the z1 mail in tuning service, I know a lot of people use admintune curious how z1 stacks up. I have a 2011 awd sedan.

@4DRZ has a Z1 remote tune. Go read his build thread.

That didn’t appear to go well..

If I recall correctly Admintune is who you’ll be taping right Rochester?

Eugene at Enthusiast Auto Care is my choice.

He eventually came to his happy place with Z1, but it wasn't easy getting there.

Somebody PM'd me recently, very enthusiastic about this guy Eugene.

Yes, my plan is to go with Moncef this May.

Seb at specialty Z is also a great option. Personally, Moncef would be my pick if going remote tuning route.

I was on the admintune website the other day, is there a performance difference between the ecutek and uprev remote tunes?

ecuTEK shows more parameters (better for FI applications) I believe but if you're doing bolt-ons Uprev works just fine.

Did you get your tune eventually, and did you work with Eugene on this project?

No not yet. Started with maintenance and basic track time upgrades/seat time first.

I’ll tune with Eugene likely in the fall this year. I think we have similar goals but I’ll be tuning for better drivability rather than out right power. Unless there is a shift in my build goals, the only aftermarket “power adder” I’ll have is a set of Z1 intakes because I got them at a price I couldn’t pass up.

He is also relatively local to me so I’ll do what he prefers in terms of steet/e-tune or dyno tune. I’ll update then, but you’ll likely be well and done with the tuning processes by then.

Thank you. Sounds like you're pretty organized and realistic. If I had a shop like that which was local... lucky guy.

Moncef seems AWOL at the time in this project where I'm ready to start the tune. I don't know if that's normal for him, or just bad luck on my part. But it's giving me cause to research alternatives.

Yeah sure am glad the Bay Area, CA has a few shops that I trust to handle my work.

Interesting, maybe he isn’t as attentive to his email as he is to his social media. He/his shop account has posted twice in the last two days. His “bio” also states to reach out via DM(direct message) :

Edit: Correction, that first link is his fabrication account. Here is the Moncef/Admintuning official account :

Moncef stays so busy so it's hard to get something done quick.

I went with SOHO Motorsports and love it. Turnaround time was super fast. Even received a tune on a Saturday too. SOHO received the order Oct. 7th and then I got my cable a few days later. Base file loaded the 12th and my final tune with ARC features and pops/flames was on the 14th.

Another good tuner worth noting is Rsenthalpy. Know a few guys around here that are tuned by him and got great results.

Eugene is our forum member known as "Bythabay". He's helped many of us here.

That's right. Research the SN and you'll see someone who was very helpful here on the forum. In fact, he might even come back and be more active again, having recently purchased another G sedan as a DD.

I spoke with him for quite a while on the phone this evening. Very even tempered, direct, confident and kind.

And I hired him for the tune.
