Dynoed my 2011 G37S Sedan 6mt

I will post the videos and graphs.

Ran 4 runs.

First 2 were 288whp / 247wtq
3rd run was 295whp / 251 wtq ( I am not counting this run because we removed the stock filters and airbox covers)
4th run was 290whp/ 249wtq ( this one we left the filters out and put the covers back)

All runs were done in 5th gear on my 6mt

Cool. I'm interested to see the graph. Assuming ~12% power train loss with the 6mt that puts you right at 330hp at the crank. Right where you should be. Every dyno is different but sounds like you are making good power. The slush box cars lose more power to the wheels, and the AWD slush box cars lose more still.

Neat experiment with removing the air boxes, not that you'd actually drive like that...

What kind of dyno did you use ? Dynojet? Numbers seem high for a stock G37

Here come the haters...FYI I didn't do this for anyones approval. I did this for my own information before I started modifying my car, my car is stock with 12.5k. I've been dynoing on this dyno for years when I had my 6mt maxima and its always read inline with other dynos for other 6mt maximas with similar mods.

That is one sexy looking torque curve. So much usable midrange!

I get what you're doing, Zack. What's the first power mod on your list? I'm guessing HFC, yes?

Still smile when I see your SN pop up, and I'm reminded of our freakishly parallel history. 12.5k miles, eh? I'm at 12k, LOL.

And I spy blue brackets on your strut towers. Seems you finally got around to installing that Cusco bar. (And a purple, anodized oil cap. Um... yeah, OK. )

No HFCs for me. I don't wanna have to worry about anything with emissions and warranty.
I have simple aspirations, Intake/ exhaust and tune. My next mod is going to be a set of Eibach sways but I am probably going to do a K&N intake kit which is why on run 3 we gave the engine more air to see if it would indeed make more which it did so I have no doubt that any of the short ram style intakes are going to give 5-10whp on the top end.
It was important to me to baseline the car now that I felt it has been broken in so I know that everything is ok.

nice numbers. I have a 2011 G37 Journey Sedan with an auto. I finally made it out to the track last night, 2 passes were 13.68 @ 101.87 (2.10 60', leaving at 1000rpm) then came right around and launched at 1500rpm and it went 13.71 @ 101.51 I'm very impressed with the power of this car and the 2012 V6 Mustang I slaughtered was too. Mine is a lease but I'm considering some small mods now.

Don't get butt hurt dude , was wondering what dyno u used. A few different dynos read different numbers . Some read low , some read high.Thats why I'm asking... Either way good dyno run.

No worries. I am not butt hurt, what you said just made you sound like a douche. I am fully aware of the fact that some dynos read high and some low but all that matters to me is my delta moving forward. Posting in a thread and making a statement like "Numbers seem high for stock G37" can come off a bit negative

Does Massachusetts sniff exhausts? Here in NY all they do is a visual inspection and OBD readings.

My Eibachs will be on the car in a couple weeks. Very psyched for this mod.

A pair of RHFC from FI is the next item on my list, and hopefully this year. Our cars are too quiet, man. Way too quiet.

I didn't read it that way, Zack. Honest.

Shake it off, buddy. Make nice about over-reacting, avoid words like "douche", and move on.

I'm a little surprised it picked up that much with the boxes open. The filters out are pretty typical gains - I've seen similar on other cars before. Sounded pretty mean with the open boxes btw. Thanks for sharing your results and vids!
