The speedometer showed 160mph but the dyno showed a top speed of 157mph. I ment to ask him to let me run it out in 6th too see where/ if it would hit the limited but I forgot when I got really excited about my first 2 passes. The dyno operator suggest we open up the intake to see how it would behave. I couldn't believe it picked up a straight 7whp and 5wtq. The we decided to close it back but without the filter which only showed 2whp and 2wtq improvement. I am convinced that any short ram intake should give at least those gains.
Overall I love the powerband on this car it is so linear and broad.

That's amazing..I wonder what it'll top out of in 6th. I'm about to run my car down the street to hear and feel the difference of an open box. Ha

Zack, remember the GAB mod on the Org? It seemed rather silly, but it was also real. Coat-hangers, who knew?

Nice video.

Its good to see what our car does stock.
I hardly do any engine mods. Mine are mostly audio mods.

I think most every car enthusiast can all relate to wanting more power, and it's always relative to something else. Now that I'm comfortable with the G, I'm kind of wanting more myself.

After watching the video with the air filters removed it really makes me want to go out and get a new intake. Pick up a few hp and get some extra sound.

Time to start doing some research.

This forum needs a whole sub forum for 335i/135 discussion. There are countless threads like this on here, and they all go the same way.

1 someone mentions a 335

2 another person comes in and says "the G is so close performance wise"

3 here comes the tune talk

4 someone gets hurt feeling and discussion gets somewhat heated/elevated

5 insult is thrown

Give it a rest. We are all car enthusiasts and about 99.9% of us cross shopped the 335i. We all know it has huge potential. We all know it can be tuned. We all know there are problems that can possibly arise. Can we stop repeating the cycle.

OP those are nice numbers. Why not go R2C for intake? They are mostly isolated from the engine bay, they still utilize the "ram" air effect, and they have great filters.

I looked at it but i am either going to go with the stillen short ram or the K&N typhoon but i feel as though they are all the same when it comes to the short rams, i just want to get more air to the engine.

Short ram designs are mostly all the same, and primarily about noise, with just as much potential for a gain of a few HP as they are for a loss of the same. Best to go with a short-ram with a heat-shield. Better yet, the Stillen Gen2 Intake has a fully covered heat-shield, intending to source cold air from the OEM inlets.

And better still, the Stillen Gen3 and the Takeda CAI are both long-tube designs that place the pop-chargers in front of the radiator. They're more expensive, and it's more of a PITA for installation, but they seem to be the designs that actually work best on these cars.

Truer words have never been posted on this forum. Will some you PLEASE stop making every single tread into a BMW discussion? It is very, very old and extremely annoying. If that's the topic of a discussion then great. If it's not, don't turn it into one. There's already plenty of them here. Or go start another one in The Lounge Other Cars forum and have your Bavarian love fest there. That's the place for it. Not here.

Some days I wish "BMW" and ""335" were added to the swear filter so they never appeared here again. And I like the car.

So you've been in one of these before?

What's it like?

A set of nymphomaniac identical twins named Helga and Heidi, a keg of Paulaner, a 3 day weekend in Munich, and sauerkraut stuck in places it was hard to get out of. I can't go into detail for security reasons...

Manny, what're doing trolling in the G forum? Are you a proud new owner, perhaps? Finally trade in that Genny Coupe?

No because I can't afford one, remember?
