best tune for the money?

I recently installed an R2C intake and ARK exhaust, love them both and theyre definitely staying on the car. After installing the exhaust, gas mileage seems to have dropped, but that could just be because its winter. (The ecu was replaced about a year ago and it hasn't read out the mpg since so i'm not sure if mileage has actually dropped)

Either way, i'm looking into a tune and don't really know where to start. What are the best options? and for anyone in the tri-state area, are there any reputable shops in ny/nj/conn?

thanks in advance for the help.

I don't think you have enough mods to really warrant a tune...but to each his own.

you can tune whenever you want. but to get the most out of it, try to add HFC or TP.
Try performance motorsport on Long Island. Hit up Alex n say Simon recommended you. They are running UpRev tune special for $500. It will be the best shop you will see in the tri-state.

haha, thanks guys, that was all i needed to hear . Ill check out videos, but will either HFCs or TPs make the car sound ricey? I love the way ark sounds, wouldn't mind louder but raspy/ricey would be no bueno.

I have the Ark CB and Berk HFC on my 09 xS Sedan, I will try and take a short video so you can hear what it sounds like. There is a slight rasp sound from the HFC but its not terrible and is only there for a second when the car is in first then it goes away.

You should be getting less mileage during the winter. The gas constricts in the cold weather, actually anything under 67 degrees it constricts. You also don't technically get the gas you pay for at the pump either during the winter.... I work for a fuels company, it has opened my eyes to the ways these companies make money.

Do you mind elaborating more. I always wonder what is "winterized" gas. I have heard people say gas companies add more ethanol in the gas because it burns faster. However, I usually get gas that has no ethanol and I still take the hit in winter.

Winterized mix is a special additive that they add to gas so it won't freeze during the winter months(it is more than just ethanol). You usually see this more in Diesel products than normal gasoline. It is also added to the states that get colder temperatures(like the Northeast for example). I am not 100% sure what they do in Canada because they have different regulations on what they do with gas than in the US. Technically all pumps should be temperature gauging what you get at the pump but they don't do this in the US(they do in Alaska though). The reason they don't do this is because all these tanks are under the ground.

Here is a quick video of the Ark Cat Back and Berk HFC. You will hear a slight rattle in there and I have to take it back to the shop as one side wasn't quite put on right and is vibrating against some metal.
Video of Berk HFC/Ark Cat Back

So far I love the combo, and definitely felt more power in the mid range and upper end as well. I will have to take it in for a tune right after I get the oil changed.

Thanks for the upload. It sounds good and the power gains definitely make it worth it, on the video it doesn't sound as deep as as ark with stock cats. How does it sound in person? beyond the little bit of rattle in first, is it as deep sounding as ark and stock cats?
