Don't know if there is any truth to it but when I was looking at buying a convertible the dealer told me the 5hp difference is because they put a more restrictive exhaust on the verts so that the noise wouldn't upset old people. If that's true and you changed exhaust you shouldn't have any difference.

2010 6MT - Stillen Gen 3, Stillen CBE & Berk HFCs
Here is my latest dyno (last Saturday). Both of my trips to the dyno have been at the same place so I had them show my best stock dyno with my best current mod dyno.
Run2 - Stock - 4th gear pull
Run6 - Moded - 4th gear pull
As you can see we hit the governor on the latest dyno, which is something the car didn't have nuts for stock. Probably would have got a few more out of it if we could have run higher than 6,600rpms.
All runs on a Dynojet
Overall I'm pretty impressed with the 35hp/30ft-lb I picked up over stock.

Curious, I know it doesn't matter as much on mustang and dyno dynamics because they use a load cell to measure roll force, but the dynojet uses mass and acceleration to get force so you can calculate horsepower. In gears that aren't a 1:1 ratio you will have different acceleration which will in turn give you different force and different horsepower numbers.
So why are so many 6MT guys doing 4th gear pulls instead of 5th gear pulls on dynojets?
