Donations Needed for America's Heroes
Fellow Members,
The DFW G35 Owners Club and our sponsor Grubbs Infiniti has undertaken the challenge to help some of America’s Heroes. I’m writing to you today to ask for your support.
The Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes is a nonpartisan, nonprofit, tax-deductible organization created to provide an easy and meaningful way for individuals, corporations and others to help our severely wounded and disabled veterans and their families rebuild their lives.
On August 5th-8th approximately 100 wounded soldiers and their families will be brought to the DFW Metroplex so that we can assist them in the transition back to civilian life. A group of motivational speakers, business leaders, recruiters, psychologists and sports figures will speak to them both as a group and individually to assist them in any way possible. Representatives from the Veterans Administration and the Social Security Administration will also be on hand to assist them in cutting through the red tape so that their benefits are not delayed.
In addition to all of the business events a fun time is planned such as a day at 6 Flags, a day at Hurricane Harbor along with a night at the Ballpark where they will be the guests of the Texas Rangers and will be honored on the field.
Everything which is being done is at no cost to the soldiers and their families. In addition transportation, hotels, meals and entertainment will also be covered. As you can imagine the cost of such an event is very expensive.
One of the challenges for these young heroes is understanding that just because they have had life altering wounds they don’t have to alter their life or their plans. This is accomplished by bringing them face to face with very successful people that have the same disabilities. By doing this they can see reality rather than just hearing words.
I am asking each of our members to help by making a tax deductible donation of $5.00 to Salute America’s Heroes Texas Chapter
