Hi all,

I decided to Dedadge the G coupe, but I left Mt. Fuji. I found a pretty fast and easy way to Debadge without scuffing and adding scratches to the paint.

After you spray goo gone on the letters, and Use floss to saw them off spray more goo gone and let it soak for a few minutes in the sun. Then instead of rubbing the glue tape with a rag soaked with goo gone ( which is how scratches develop) Use your index finger pad to push on the adhesive and roll it into a ball. You should be able to "smudge" most of the glue/tape off, it rolls up cleanly off the paint. With no damage.

There will be some remnants, so hit the car with some water and a little bit of car wash soap and water mix, then re-soak the area with goo gone for 3-5 minutes ( still in the sun) and repeat the gentle smudging until its spread thin or gone.

Then very gently wipe with a goo gone rag and one more round with the soapy water, then polish and wax, you should end up with no scratches, or at least i didn't.

The key is to start "smudging" when the surface is drying out, if its too wet your finger will slip and slide over the glue.

My car is 3 years old and you can barely see the letters, after a few days in the sun it should be gone completely.

(Made for those who don't have confidence in this process, there is hope)

This isn't really a new technique. People do it different ways. If the finger method worked for you, awesome.

I personally kept heat on the tape soaked in goo gone and worked it off with the dry rag. No scratches.

Damn, the last few threads I searched everyone talks about how they get tons of scratches and what not. I didn't come across this method before.

Out of curiosity, these badges on the car the are not "drilled" in are they? (have not looked yet) also i have always held by lighter fluid as oppose to "goo gone" ... i know 90% of the GOOD bodyshops i have been in will use it, and that way if your fingers are clean it offers a bit of oil as well to help avoid scratching... but again you'll want a clean surface.. so.. if they are not drilled in let me know i may have a new afternoon project... oh and if they are which badges...

well it is a good thing to know, i wasnt aware it had even existed just offering a second method (not trying to step on toes promise)

I started with removing the Infiniti, I would have considered leaving the G37, but I have an x so no pretty S to consider leaving so I took it all off
