Request for DIY: Seafoam treatment to clean upper part of engine on 2008 G37

Hey folks,

Does anyone have a DIY guide to run seafoam through the vacuum hose / brake booster (?) line on a G37? ...I'm having trouble finding which hose to put the treatment through..

Referred to this article: How to Seafoam your engine the right way. Complete DIY : General Chat

Also, was looking through the FSM without any luck..

Thanks!

Disconnect the vacuum hose from the brake booster. Pour it in VERY slowly.

Got that. The only problem is, I don't know where to find a vacuum hose and which one is recommended (if there are multiple, as I've read that you want to find one that distributes evenly to all cylinders)

Picture(s) with a red circle/arrow would be helpful if you know of any??

Thanks!

I'm at work and can't post a photo. It isn't hard. There's only one easily accessible hose on the brake booster. It's just beside the brake fluid reservoir (to the left side of it when facing the firewall) near the top. Its held on with a compression clamp. It's about 1/2" or so in diameter. That's the one I've used both times I've done it.

Awesome! That's the kind of description I was looking for... No other hoses there to get confused by, right?

Thanks again!

Nope. Take a look. If you don't understand what hose I'm referring to by that description, close your hood and walk away from the car.

Ha ha! ...Mmm kay. No need to enjoy my ignorance that much... Everything is a learning process for me and cars aren't my #1 priority ATM.

If you follow that DIY, the last step has a chance to hydrolock your motor.
If you cant even find your brake booster hose, don't even think of doing this.
There are enough detergents in today's fuels, that this is no longer needed.

Im not being rude, Im being factual, and saving your A$$.

""When you get almost halfway through the can, dunk the hose into the can, give it a good "chug" and let it stall the engine (or have your assistant shut off the engine immediately). This will leave a good, wet dose of Seafoam on the cylinder tops
and valves, where it can soak into and dissolve the varnish deposits that hold the carbon together.""
