DIY: Fix Windshield Cowl Popping Noises
#16
I did this last night. THANK YOU REXENATOR. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! This did the trick and now that annoying creaking noise is gone. I think i cut my felt strips a little thick b/c they protrude from the cowling a little ways, but I'm so glad that stupid noise is gone.

Removing wipers
Trying to perform this DIY and I can't get the friggen wiper arms off the car! I sprayed WD-40 and they won't budge. Is there some other trick to getting these suckers off?

Well, I'm picking up my car today. Dealer just called and said they fixed it. He said they found the issue with the cowl rubbing up against the window. I'll let everyone know if it has indeed been resolved by them.

I found another fix for this. I just turn up the radio real loud.
I've owned the car for over a month now and just heard this the other day. Will be trying this DIY soon.

Just heard this for the first time today on my new (to me) G37x coupe . I guess the -15C temps didn't help haha. Thanks for the DIY I'll give it a go once I can find the right felt.

This is the same question I have. Anyone know if the cowl lifts up when you do this fix?

I have had this fix on my car for over a year now. There have been no leaks or water drainage into the engine compartment. The cowl fits just like it did without the felt, it just doesn't rub against the windshield, which is what caused the noise before.
