Steering Wheel Trim
Just ordered mine, $110, infinitipartsdeal.com Dealer wanted $186 Has anybody done anything to try to lengthen life of these so you are not running into this again in a few years? Maybe a topcoat of clear?
Can the old one be restored with same finish?

Good enough. I received the part today. Looks much better, I'm fine if it just painted black, looks good.
Is this coating on the original the same as what the Z cars had problems with in the interior? I've read about the interior trim on them getting pretty crappy pretty quick.

Thanks for the info everyone. I'll replace the steering wheel trim and the door handle aluminum trim and my '08 interior will pretty much be perfect. The interior is 1 of the reasons I chose a G37 over a Nissan Z or genesis coupe.
Thanks!
Thanks!

ok, WHO IS THE MASTER OF THE INFINITI PART NUMBERS??? Yes, it's ME!
Partnumbers of the trims are:
Nissan 48463-JK06A LIDSTEERING,RH - Black (only cruise-control hole)
Nissan 48463-JK06B LIDSTEERING,RH - Beige (only cruise-control hole)
Nissan 48463-JK07A LIDSTEERING,RH - Black (both cruise-control and Navi/Bluetooth hole)
Nissan 48463-JK07B LIDSTEERING,RH - Beige (both cruise-control and Navi/Bluetooth hole)
And yes, dealers can't find these numbers in the Nissan Fast catalog, though you can order them. Some strange Nissan/Infiniti decision...

Not to revive an old thread here, but I removed my wheel tonight and ran into an issue.
When I pulled the wheel off, the plastic cover below the wheel broke. Right where the airbag wires connect.
There doesn’t appear to be any damage to the board or to the wires (or their connections). Is this an issue?

Looks like the piece that broke off is shielding the wires as they bend off of the circuit board. I would apply some epoxy glue to the edges, hold it down with some masking tape, let it cure overnight and you should be fine.
