no i did not and what he used is pretty interesting. something i would want to try on my next project. the way i did it is wayyyy too complicating and time consuming but the led's i used has 120,000mcd which is super bright
I didnt drill any holes anywhere. I simply ran the wires behind the clear shroud and wrapped them in heat shrink. I was very careful none of the wires touched any metal or anything I though would get hot and metal the wires. The clear shroud had to be painted though in order to hide the wiring.
and I believe the LED's I used were 50,000 MCD... Not sure what MCD means but they are pretty bright as well..lol are was the 50,000 the estimated life of the LED? lol.... I can't remember..
EIther way..fun project.

yeah, i can tell you painted your clear shroud to blend in the black wires those leds came with which isn't a bad idea. i just ordered the same leds you're using and i have a new project coming up that's gonna be shipped overseas. i'll try to take some nice pic's on this set! thanks for the tip
LED's were already assembled, wired and everything. Bought them from superbrightLEDs.com It's been a few months and I haven't had any problems what-so-ever.
